Dear Customer
This safe is equipped with a precision and mechanical combination lock. Please read the instruction carefully in order to learn different steps for opening or changing combination so that you never encounter any problems.
Explanation:
The combination lock has three dials. You can set all three dials with the same number (from 0 to 99). However, you have the highest security if you choose different number for each dial
.The visible parts of the combination lock installed on the safe door are:
1) A dial numbered from 0 to 99.2) A fixed guide plate behind dial with two downward arrows used for unlocking combination.
3) A mark on the left (left dial) used for changing combination.
The mark for changing combination in some models is located on the right side of the downward arrow. In order to change combination lock on right dial, you can follow the instructions in reverse. Factory setting on all Kaveh Industrial Company products equipped with combination lock is 75.
In order to open safe door proceed as follows:
Turn dial left four rounds (and continue) until number 75 is lined up with downward arrow. Now turn dial right until it stops (this action frees the latches.)
Turn the handle to the left and open the safe door. You can repeat these steps several times as practice.
Steps to change combination:
Open the safe door. Turn handle so that the latches come out. The safe comes with a special key that you should use for changing the combination (refer to figure 2). You should first erase the existing combination before setting a new one.
The steps are as follows:
Turn dial left four rounds (and continue) until number 75 is lined up with l mark. Enter the special key for changing combination into the key hole on the inside of the safe door. The key should go into the key hole all the way up to its groove (refer to figure 2). Turn the key 90 degrees counter clockwise. This will erase previous combination so that you can enter a new one.
(If you return the key to its previous position, the original combination will be restored.)
Steps to Set a New Combination:
Turn dial left four rounds and continue until number 52 is lined up with l mark.
Turn the key 90 degrees clockwise (to return to its original position) and remove it.
(This will conclude steps to set a new combination with single number.)
Try the new combination several times while the safe door is open to make sure the new combination is set and works correctly.
Practice with the new combination the same way you did when the combination was set to 75.
Important Note 1: For setting combination with a single number, it is important that the chosen number is not between 30 and 40 or 80 to 90. Steps to Set a New Combination with Three
Numbers: Note: Always remember that in setting combination with three numbers the first number should be the lowest or the highest one.
Example: For setting combination with 63 - 26 - 52, proceed as follows: Assuming the combination is set to 75 by the factory, proceed with the steps mentioned earlier to erase it.
Setting the First Number: Turn the dial left four rounds and continue until number 52 is lined up with l mark.
Setting the Second Number :
Turn the dial right three rounds until number 26 is lined up with l mark. (Please note that, in turning the dial right, arriving at the second number, 26 in this example, counts as one round.) In turning the dial right, stop the third time 26 is lined up with l mark. Setting the Third Number:
Turn the dial left two rounds until number 63 is lined up with l mark. (Please note that, in turning the dial left, arriving at the third number, 63 in this example, counts as one round.)
In turning the dial left, stop the second time 63 is lined up with l mark. At this point, turn combination change key 90 degrees clockwise (to return to the original position) and remove it. (This will conclude steps to set a new combination with three numbers.)
Important Note 2: In setting a three-number combination, your numbers should not fall between 30 to 40 or 80 to 90. Important Note 3: The difference between the selected numbers for steps 1 and 2 or steps 2 and 3 should be 25 to 30 or higher.
You should start over if you make a mistake while setting a three-number combination.
When you finish setting a three-number combination, proceed as follows in order to open it: Turn the dial left four rounds and continue until number 52 is lined up with downward arrow.
Turn the dial right three rounds until number 26 is lined up with downward arrow (be careful to stop when number 26 is lined with downward arrow the third time.)
Turn the dial left two rounds until number 63 is lined up with downward arrow (be careful to stop when number 63 is lined with downward arrow the second time.)
Now turn dial right until it stops (this action frees the latches.) Turn the handle and open the safe door.
